John R. Lesniak, age 90 of Linden, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday May 14, 2019. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Friday May 17, 2019, at 8:45 am, from the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. , Clark, thence to St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am.

Entombment, St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday from 5-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests everyone to take their family out for ice cream or make a donation to their favorite charity.

Born and raised in Elizabeth, to Joseph and Catherine, Mr. Lesniak has resided in Linden since 1961. He worked for many years as a machinist for the Van Vlaanderen Co. of Paterson. Mr. Lesniak was a long time member of the Holy Name Society of St. John the Apostle R.C. Church.

He was an avid golfer, bowler, softball player, who also loved jigsaw puzzles and word searches. He was a graduate of Edison Tech of Elizabeth where he was a cross country runner. He is survived by his five children Denise Keenan (Frank Piazza), Thomas Lesnaik (Barbara), William Lesniak (Mariclare), Marybeth Colicchio (Thomas) and Jean Bellero (Charlie); thirteen grandchildren Kelly Collard, Katie Pascucci, Brian Keenan, Cara Piazza, Sean, Joseph, Patrick and Christoper Lesniak, Jena Eckstein, Meagan Lesniak, and Kimberly, Amanda and Michelle Colicchio; eight great grandchildren Emily, Megan, Katlyn, Colleen, Enzo, Brooke, George and Jack; longtime caregiver Anna.

Mr. Lesniak is predeceased by his beloved wife Rita (1984).
