OBITUARY John Richard Evanko Jr. January 4, 1964 – December 10, 2018 John Richard Evanko, Jr., age 54 of Pelham, passed away on Monday, December 10,2018. John was born and raised in Pennsylvania and was employed as a project coordinator at Z-Modular. He was an active member of Lakeview-Pelham’s 1st United Methodist Church where he volunteered and served in many capacities.

John was also very active in the community and was a team volunteer for the Tragic City Rollers and was a baseball and softball coach to many in Hoover and Pelham. He was also a scout leader for Troop 367, Troop 23, and Cub Scouts Pack 71. He is survived by his wife, Tracey Lowery Evanko; 4 children, Christopher Evanko (Jena), Mandy Evanko Fiquett (Katie), Kasey Evanko, and Griffin Evanko.

He is also survived by his parents, John, Sr. and Mary Evanko; brother, Michael Evanko; and 2 grandchildren, Wes Evanko and Hannah Ivey. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lakeview-Pelham’s 1st United Methodist Church. Funeral services at the church will commence on Friday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials honoring the life of John Evanko May be directed to the American Cancer Society. Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel (205. 879.

3401) in Homewood.
