OBITUARY John Robert Laird January 26, 1940 – September 14, 2018 John Robert Laird, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away on September 14, 2018 from complications of MSA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St James Catholic Church 309 S Stewart Rd, Liberty, MO. Friends may call Monday, Sept 17 at St James from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

The funeral is Tue the 18th at St. James, 10am. Private family inurnment at a later date. John was born Jan.

27, 1940 to Rose and Benjamin Laird. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley and brother James. John spent a lifetime in the heavy truck industry and retired as vice-president of MHC Kenworth.

He was a graduate of De La Salle High School and was a Navy veteran. John loved playing golf, going on fishing trips to the Canadian wilderness. John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, as well as Debbie (Sam) Miceli, Emily (Michael) Reavey, Brad (Andrea) Nelson and Bruce Nelson as well as 8 grandchildren.

John also leaves his 5 nieces and nephews, Craig (Jean, David (Melissa), James (Rita), Susa (Thomas) Saunders, Kathy (Dan) Stichnot, 15 great nieces and nephews and 7 great great nieces and nephews. John’s family would like to thank the hospice and Oxford Grand friends who provided amazing care of John throughout his journey.
