John Roger Nicolle May 19, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Jean-Loup Marie Roger Nicolle a/k/a John Roger Nicolle born May 18, 1931, Paris, France passed away on May 19, 2019. Fleeing from the Nazis, at the age of nine, he arrived in New York City aboard the ship Excambion in 1940. He received a B.A. degree from Rutgers University in 1953.

Although he did not see combat, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. A cartoonist at heart, he worked as an insurance agent in New York. He was active in the Huntington Station Rotary Club.

Ultimately, in retirement he moved to Maryland. John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne, daughters, Deirdre and Lori and son-in-law David. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Oak Crest Chapel Wednesday 12 noon with graveside services being held Friday, 1 PM, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY.
