John Scott Lee was born in Huntsville, Texas, on December 29, 1962 to John and Joyce Lee. His home during his formative years was in Troy, Alabama. He graduated from Charles Henderson High School in 1981.

Scott went on to run track for Troy University and became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon while there. He later transferred and graduated in 1986, with a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University and a degree in Computer Science. After graduating, Scott began a long career developing software through various organizations for the Department of Defense.

He began this career in Melbourne, Florida, continued on to Huntsville, Alabama, and finally settled in Shalimar, Florida, where he and Kris Kovacs raised their daughter, Rhianna, and where he loved living on or near the bay and gulf. Scott possessed a great passion for running, cycling, and swimming, and competing in triathlons and biathlons. He was an avid reader and could discuss a variety of genre with young and old alike.

Scott held great love for his family and friends, and was particularly smitten with his first grandson, Oliver. Scott left this world unexpectedly on April 27, 2019, at the age of 56. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhianna Morgan Lee, grandson, Eldred Oliver Lee-Gillim, fiancée, Celeste Prohaska, parents, John William and Joyce Lynn Lee, sister, Linda Kay DiLullo (Jeff DiLullo), brother, Daniel Christopher Lee (Olga Lee), as well as six nieces and nephews and five Aunts and Uncles.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, Niceville, Florida. Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Scott’s final resting place will be in Bradley, Alabama, a place for which he held a great affinity, having grown up playing and exploring in the area with his cousins and siblings.

His interment follows Funeral services at 1:00 PM, in the Bradley Cemetery, at Bradley Assembly of God Church, Bradley Alabama.
