John M. Thomas age 80, of Upper Sandusky, died Saturday March 23, 2019 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born February 22, 1939 to the late Alben and Emmalaura (Alexander) Thomas. He married Darlene Shambaugh on September 11, 1993 and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He is also survived by his children Kathleen Thomas, Upper Sandusky, Robert (Kaylee) Thomas, Upper Sandusky, John Jr. (Carol) Thomas, GA, Elizabeth Long, GA, his grandchildren David Thomas, Jennifer Long, Kayden Thomas, Kimberly Thomas and Kyle Brause, and his sisters Mary (Rick) Kotter, KY, Martha Thomas, KY. He is preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Thomas. John was a 1957 graduate of Mayfield High School, KY.

He attended the University of Kentucky and then earned his MBA at the Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania. He was the plant manager at Corning Glass in New Jersey and was later involved in constructing homes in Greenville, Ohio. John was then the President of Engineered Wire Products in Upper Sandusky, where he retired in 2010.

He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was a church elder. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Thursday March 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Rev. Kenneth Wessler will officiate.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
