McEwen, John W., Jr. Of Lexington, KY formerly from Pittsburgh, PA passed away Monday, December 3, 2018. Born December 15, 1930 to the late John W. and Frances J. McEwen. Survived by his loving wife, Patricia H. McEwen.

Other survivors include his brother, Richard S. McEwen (Carol), Edinboro, PA. ; children, John S. McEwen (Maureen) Hilliard, OH; Donald C. McEwen, Germantown, MD. and Sheryl L. Steele (Alan) Lexington, KY.

Grandchildren Kathleen Tolar (Gage) Durham, NC; Elizabeth McEwen, Oak Park, IL; Taylor Steele, Lexington, KY and Madison Steele, Louisville, KY. John was a graduate of Duquesne University and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Centennial-Lafayette Lodge #544 F & AM Masonic Lodge in Carnegie.

He retired from Mine Safety Appliances after thirty-nine years of service. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at Henney, Bradwell & Nirella Funeral Home, 524 Washington Ave. , Carnegie, where Masonic Service will be held Sunday 7:30 pm and Funeral Service will be held Monday 11:00 am.
