OBITUARY John Wayne Smith September 6, 1943 – November 29, 2018 John Wayne Smith, 75, of Junction City, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1943 to Leon Smith and Katherine Williams Smith in El Dorado, AR. Wayne grew up in the Faircrest and Mt.

Union communities. He was the owner agent for Multistate Insurance Agency for 41 years and former owner of Smith’s Foodland and he was also an ordained deacon at Mt Union Baptist Church in 1966. Wayne was a man who loved his family and friends.

He worked hard all his life, but he prided himself most for the relationship he had with his family. He was always looking for a way to help someone. He was full of love for his fellow man.

Wayne was married at the age of 21 to the love of his life Linda Jones Smith. They spent the last 54 years together virtually inseparable. His passion was spending time on the lake with his family and close friends.

Most recently he could be seen mowing grass all over Junction City. He loved seeing people and never seemed to meet a stranger. Preceding him in death are his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith of Junction City; son, Tony Smith (Laura) of Bossier City; daughter, Theresa Glover (George) of Junction City; two brothers, Jerry Smith (Cecilia) of Calion, Randall Smith of Rosebud, AR; sister, Delores Carroll of Beebe, AR; and five grandchildren, Katie Galbraith (Aaron), Jerry Wayne Glover, Emily Glover, Sydney Smith, and London Smith. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John Ayers officiating.

Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church, 653 Mt.
