John’s Obituary John S. West, formerly of Waynetown, passed away Saturday morning at Ben Hur Health. He was 86. John worked driving a truck for several people and also did some farming.

He attended school at Raab and Covington. Born Nov. 27, 1932 in Oakwood, Illinois, he was the son of Tommy West and Mabel P. McElwee West.

He married Judith West on June 16, 1974. She passed away April 27, 2012. Surviving family includes a sister-in-law, Wilma West of Georgetown, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Tom West, three sisters, Edith Young, Virginia Denham and Agnes West, two nephews, Billy Young and William Dean West. Graveside services will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, May 8th at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, led by Pastor Vernon Dowell.
