Obituary for John William O’Connor IV John William O’Connor IV, of Reading, Ohio passed away on November 28, 2018 at OSU at the age of 63. He was born on December 2, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late John William O’Connor, III and Ethel (nee Conant) O’Connor. John at a young age enjoyed working in the family monument business (Beeco Monuments) and eventually took over the ownership of the family business.
He loved fishing and was a member of the Cincinnati Anglers Club. John would travel all over the country for fishing tournaments making many friends along the way. He was also a very good pool player.
John graduated LaSalle High School and was a avid LaSalle Football fan. John was preceded in death by his parents: John William, III and Ethel (nee Conant) O’Connor; brother: Michael Ray O’Connor and nephew: James Kelsey Jr.. Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Mary Anne Boykins, Alice Marie (Jim) Kelsey, Kathleen Ann Bramley and Patrick James (Makiko) O’Connor; Cherished nieces & nephews: Samuel Harris Jr., Elizabeth (Pierre) Robinson, Wendy (Shon) Lynn, James Kelsey III, Michelle Courtney, Dale Mohrfield, Christopher (Ashley) O’Connor, Nicholas O’Connor, and Jordan O’Connor.
Also survived by a loving aunt Muriella Conant and many great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Unverferth House Inc., Which is a house where families stay free of charge when their family member is in the hospital. John’s family used this during John’s stay at Ohio State University. You may bring your donation to the visitation or the funeral service and give to a funeral home representative.
