Obituary for Johnny Franklin Smith Johnny Franklin Smith was born on October 3, 1937 in Bonham, TX to Tero and Mildren (Norris) Smith and passed away on April 16, 2018 at his home in Durant at the age of 80. Johnny has lived the majority of his life in Bryan County. He was the owner of Smith Roofing for many years until his retirement.
He attended Liveoak United Pentecostal Church and he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, coon hunting, dancing and sharing the gospel. He treasured the time that he got to spend with his family and friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Martha Smith; parents; daughter, Brenda Hampton; grandchildren, Dustin, Justin, Jacob and Johnathon Hampton; brothers, Harvey, Dennis and Herman Smith; infant brother and sisters, Sandy Marsh and Lydia Vinyard.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Elfriede Smith; children, Patricia Hendricks-Welsh, Johnny Smith and wife Darla, Louinda Williams-Farris and husband Jason and Donald Campbell; grandchildren, Letrisha Eddins, Amanda Burk, Priscilla Coulter and husband Will, Christopher Smith, Hoss Williams and wife Tamara, Joni Dubrowski and husband Nick and Derrick Hampton; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Chester Smith, Raymond “Red” Smith, Doug Smith and Bo Smith and wife Karen; sisters, Linda Wright and husband Carson and Pauline Smith and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Liveoak United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Lawrence Buller officiating.
Speakers include Adam Cantrell, Lisa Holley and Hoss Williams. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery with Hoss Williams, Chris Smith, Nick Dubrowski, Payton Coulter, Cactus Williams and Devlan Burk serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 P. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
