November 30, 1963 – March 19, 2019 Johnny Ray Strickland, 55, of New Hope, passed away Tuesday. He was preceded in death by father, Wheeler Ray Strickland. Surviving are mother, Jessie Dalton Strickland, daughter, Marie Strickland, son, Shawn Gates, sister, Sheila Broad, two grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Pete Cossaboon, Daryl Schultz, Ryan Stapler, Scott Stapler, Keith Stapler, Michael Stapler, Nolan Dudley, Ernie Dudley, and Shawn Gates. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev.

Josh Taylor and Bro. Jerry Stapler officiating. Interment will be in the Byrd Cemetery.
