Jose’s Obituary Jose Luis Gamez, Sr., 61, of Ellenton, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Navicent Health in Macon Georgia. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Jesus Delangel and Ozzie Martin officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Hanes City, Florida.

Born on April 18, 1958, in Weslaco, Texas, he was the son of the late Hermenegildo Gamez and Reyes Suarez. He was employed for many years at Ellenton Farm Supply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Juan Gamez.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha Soto Lara; Jose Angel Martin, Ben Martin, Ozzie Martin, and Alfredo Lara, all of Ellenton; daughters, Vilma Delangel of Moultrie, and Digna Torres of Ellenton; 14 grandchildren; children from prior marriage, Jose Luis Gamez, Jr. of Hanes City, Florida Reyes Gamez, Sara Gamez, and Susanna Gamez, all of Hanes City, Florida; brothers, Antonio Flores, Jose Alverado, Jose Angel Gamez; sister, Maria Delores Suarez, and many other brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 5pm-6pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
