Jose Jesus Gonzalez , July 03, 1940 — November 27, 2018

Jose Jesus Gonzalez, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Mesquite, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, July 3, 1940 in San Luis, Mexico to his parents Alfonso Gonzalez and Maria de Jesus Dias de Leon. As a young boy he liked to climb the mountains around his home and play on the railroad tracks.

As a grown up, he sold cars for many years at Doran Chevrolet which became Showcase Chevrolet. His excellent customer service insured that he had lots of repeat business. Some of his favorite cars included the Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the Tahoe, the Corvette, the Bel Air, and the Studebaker.

Jose enjoyed cooking chorizo and eggs for his family along with fish, shrimp, and steak. If he wasn’t cooking, Jose would eat at places like Red Lobster or Braum’s. He liked Braum’s Banana splits along with his Diet Coke, but he also liked butter pecan ice cream and double dark chocolate ice cream with nuts.

He also enjoyed eating mixed nuts, peanuts, and pecans from the Texas Pecan Warehouse. Jose was known for buying a scratch off lottery ticket almost everyday and for only shopping at Sam’s Club. He liked being around his pet Chihuahuas and his Mexican Red-Headed Amazon parrot.

Above all of his passion in life, Jose was most passionate about his family and his faith. He was a proud father and a devoted husband. He was married to his wife, Maria Gonzalez for 57 years.

Jose and Maria had a very strong relationship and love for each other. The couple greatly enjoyed slow dancing with each other and being with each other. Jose would call all of his family everyday just to stay in touch with them.

Jose was a very devoted member of his Catholic church where he was a usher for many years. He had great faith in Our Lady of Guadalupe. Jose Jesus Gonzalez will be missed by his family and friends.

He was a great blessing to all who knew him.
