Jose’s Obituary Jose Luis Fernandez-Orta, 63 of Newman passed away Sunday, April 28th at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Mr. Fernandez-Orta was born in Mexico and was a resident of Newman for 25 years. He was a farm laborer for many years and enjoyed fishing.

He was a parishioner of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Mr. Fernandez-Orta is survived by his wife, Isabel Fernandez of Newman; sons, Jose Luis Fernandez and Fernando Fernandez both of Newman; daughters, Guadalupe Fernandez of Gustine and Isabel Fernandez of Newman; brothers, Jesus Fernandez, Ramon Fernandez both of Mexico and four grandchildren. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 9th at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman.

A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, Friday, May 10th at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman.
