Joseph A. Bernier, 83, of Weatherford, went to be with the Lord that he loved and served on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11 AM at Carbon Community Baptist Church, 515 E. Anthracite, Carbon, interment in the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211 will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:15 A.M. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 4-6PM.

Joe was born on April 10, 1965 to Leo and Gertrude Bernier of Salem, MA. He was 1 of 6 children. He married Wanda Reeves on June 21, 1959 in Peabody, MA.

Mr. Burnier proudly served 26 years in the military, and was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force. Joe later went on to pastor several churches, and retired as a hospice chaplin. He is lovingly survived by his sister, Blanche Guimond; his wife of 60 years, Wanda Burnier; 3 daughters and their husband, Ruth and Vernon Cupp, Mona and Steven Thompson, and Sabrina and John Dorn; six grandchildren and spouses, Crystal and Mike, Brandy and Paul, Nycole and Steven, Adam and Amanda, and Zachary and Zoie; and 10 great-grandchildren, Keirstan, Navy, Trey, Rory, Natalie, Abbigail, Kobe, Nolon, Dawson, and Paislee.
