Obituary for Joseph Anthony “Joe” Lane Joseph Anthony “Joe” Lane, age 91, a lifelong resident of Rensselaer, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Franciscan Health of Rensselaer, IN. He was born December 30, 1926, in Rensselaer, IN to Louis J. and Lucy M. (Brusnahan) Lane. On December 1, 1951, Joe married Joyce Irene Dunn, at St. Augustine Catholic Church of Rensselaer.

She preceded him in death on January 9, 2003. Joe graduated from Rensselaer High School, Class of 1944. He was a retired farmer and a part-time employee of Jackson’s Funeral Chapel.

Joe was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Bishop Dwenger Council Knights of Columbus 1881- past Grand Knight, Charter Member of Marian Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus-Charter Faithful Navigator, Master’s Staff Northern District of Indiana Fourth Degree K of C for 8 years, Past President and member of Jasper County Board of Zoning Appeals, Past President and member of Jasper County Planning Commission, served on Jasper County ASCS committee, Treasurer of Jasper County Democratic Central committee, Democratic Precinct Committeeman of Newton & Marion Townships, and a Fellow of St. Joseph’s College, Paul Tonner Fellow and Father Bierberg Fellow. He enjoyed celebrating the holidays, especially St. Patrick’s Day as the Unofficial Town Leprechaun, and morning coffee with his friends at the Interstate Family Express. Joe is survived by his children: Carol (Harvey) Wood of Rensselaer, IN; David Lane of Rensselaer.

Sisters-in-law, Marlene Simonin of Medford, Nancy (Maryland Jr.) Justice of Rensselaer, and Gayla Warran of Rensselaer. 5 Grandchildren, Cindy Aubuchon of Lafayette, Jeremy (Karla) Lane of Rensselaer, Christina (Johnny) Tryon of Rensselaer, Lori (Joe) Garcia of Lebanon, Kelly Lane of Santa Barbara, CA. Great-Grandchildren, Brandon, Elizabeth, Joseph Aubuchon, Jacob and Katie Joe Lane, Suzanne, Kayla, Fred, Olivia, Grace Tryon, Nathan, Matthew, Emmalyn Garcia.

Great-Great-Granddaughter, Eila Rose Aubuchon. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Stephen Joseph Lane, Daughter-in-law Joyce L. Lane and great-granddaughter, Sandra Kay Lane. Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2:00PM to 8:00 PM.

, with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church of Rensselaer on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Father Don Davison officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
