Obituary for Joseph F. Hofmeister Joseph F Hofmeister, 81, of Cincinnati, died April 22, 2018, at home with his family. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and his early education was with the De La Salle Brothers of the Christian Schools. He moved to Cincinnati, worked at La Salle and St Xavier high schools, then taught for 37 years at Cincinnati Country Day School.

At CCDS he started as a math teacher, moved into Computer Science, and then led the technology program where he pioneered student-centered learning, creating one of the first one-to-one student laptop programs in the country. He was an author, painter, gardener, and treasured his time inspiring high school students, in the classroom, in his homeroom, and working on the school newspaper and yearbook. He is survived by his wife Frances and two children, Scott (Brian Wong) Hofmeister in Berkeley, CA, Dr. Craig (Dr. Preeti Jaggi) Hofmeister in Atlanta, GA and four grandchildren: Damien, Julian, Anika and Rajan.

A visitation will be held Sunday, April 29 at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy from 4-6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Good Shepherd Community, 8815 East Kemper Rd, (45249) on Monday, April 30 at 12 Noon.
