Joseph’s Obituary Joseph H. Bertholf, III Age 78, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Joe was born August 27, 1940 in Dayton to the late Joseph H. & Clara T. (Thornsburg) Bertholf. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Stevie Joe Bertholf.

Joe retired from Chrysler in 1995 with 30 years of service. During his service in the U. S. Army he was stationed in Germany for six years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Brown’s fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of the past 55 years, Norma J. (Dobson) Bertholf; two daughters, Samantha Bertholf & Michaela Tindel; six grandchildren, Jamie, Kimberly, Robert, Thomas, Alexandra & Kevin; and by four great grandchildren, Logan, Issac, Lilliann & Avery. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Chaplain Randy Reed will officiate.

Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
