Obituary for Mr. Joseph J. Kurtyka Joseph J Kurtyka, age 81, Army Veteran, of Chicago passed away peacefully July 13, 2018; Beloved husband of Margaret Kurtyka, nee Gnoza for 47 years; Loving father of Joseph (Stacey) Kurtyka, and Karen (Eric) Shaughnessy; Devoted grandfather of Olivia, and Conner Shaughnessy; Cherished brother of John, Edward, Stanley and Anne (Edward); Dear uncle of Robert (Barbara) Gonke and Edward (Lucy) Gonke; Dearest great uncle of Annie Capotosto, Tony Gonke, Robert Gonke, and great great uncle of Ashley, Nichol, Fiona, and Nolan; Fond God-Father of Peter Vina; Lifelong friend to many who felt like family to him; Preceded in death by his parents Jon and Mary Kurtyka. Joseph was a barber for many years in the Belmont Cragin area and downtown Chicago. He will be known as a lifelong Chicago sports fan especially of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Visitation Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until time of chapel service 10:30 a.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave. Chicago going to St. Bartholomew Church, 4949 W. Patterson Ave, Chicago for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
