Obituary for Joseph J Nowark December 2, 2018, After a tremendous life Jay (Joseph) Nowark 77 passed away with his love ones around him. He will be remembered for his gregarious personality and generous spirit. Beloved husband of Carol (Larkin) Nowark.

Father of Mark Nowark (Janice), Erica Gentile (Harry), and Shannon Dzubinski (Phil). Proud grandfather of 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 3 great-grandsons. Brother of Shelia Schlag Nowark (Bill).

Jay was an U.S. Army Veteran and board member of American Legion POST 80. Accomplishments included: Founder and first coach of West View Youth Football, WVR Pony league coach, and K.O.E Irishman of the year. Jay worked 47 years with the Communication Workers of America and served as President of CWA local 585.

He spent 27 years as West View Borough Councilman and 7 years as Treasurer of the West View Water Authority Board. Instead of a viewing , a Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Thursday December 2, 2018 at 10:00 at St Athanasius Catholic Church 28 Wentworth Ave. Pittsburgh Pa 15229.
