Joseph W. Sarrey, Jr. “Jay” 66, of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Deborah E. Williams for 44 years. Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Sarrey, Sr. and Eleanor (Sweet) Sarrey.

Jay worked as an insurance broker in Boston for over twenty years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, boating, sports, assisting as a consultant in the film and dog industry, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves his wife Debbie, son Jason and his wife Kary of Somers, NY and daughter, Lauren DeBoer and her husband Stephen of Mendon, MA; a sister Janice Cardoza and her husband Mark of Easton; five grandchildren, Caitlin and Lindsay DeBoer and Jaxson, Ryon, and Aidon Sarrey; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square). Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home. Jay’s funeral will begin on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm, in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square) Interment will be in Rehoboth Village Cemetery, Bay State Road, Rehoboth, MA.
