Joseph A. Simiriglio, Sr., “Joe Sims” Passed away on May 23, 2019. Born and raised in South Philadelphia. He was a United States Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Joe was a retiree of the Philadelphia Streets Department. He spent a lot of his retired years playing golf and mentoring to his grandchildren the art of the game. He enjoyed watching cowboy western movies, entertaining others by playing his banjo and singing and “hanging” around the golf pro shop at the FDR Park catching up with his buddies.

Joseph is the beloved husband of the late Josephine (nee: Cardile). Dearest father of Joseph Jr, Eileen (Richard) Brusco, Robert Sr. (Michele) and Maria (Joseph) Licwinko. Proud doting grandpop (Poppy) of Joseph III, Anjelica, Richard, Christopher, Isabella, Robert Jr. and the late Richard.

Brother of Anthony “Scat” and the late Peter, Mary Zuppa, Victoria Avallone and Rita DiBruno. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Wednesday morning from 10-11am at St. Monica Church, 17th & Ritner Sts.
