Joseph’s Obituary Joseph “Johnny” Samons, 75, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:20 am, Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington. He was born May 6, 1944 in Weeksbury, Kentucky to Harmon Brown and Dora (Gillispie) Sammons. Johnny worked in maintenance at General Tire in Wabash for 43 and a half years, retiring in 2006.

He loved playing euchre and rook, trap shooting, and all sports. He is survived by his son, Ryan Andrews of Wabash, two grandchildren, brothers and sisters, George (Karon) Samons of Wabash, Douglas (Nadine) Samons of Seneca, South Carolina, Mary Ann (Carllus) Adkins of Savannah, Tennessee, and Carolyn Sue Sanders of Littleton, Colorado, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Sammons, and four sisters, Opal Mollette, Pauline Fraley, Ruby Bayliss, and Leona Campbell.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Bill Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 5-8pm Friday, and one hour prior to the service Saturday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Jalapa Baptist Church. The memorial guest book for Johnny may be signed at www. grandstaff-hentgen.com.
