Joseph P Farina Sr, April 01, 1936 — February 05, 2019

Joseph P. Farina, Sr., known by his family and friends as “Joe the Barber”, passed away suddenly on February 5, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Joe presently resided in Dover, DE. He was formerly of The Villages, FL, and Blackwood, NJ.

Son of the late Paul and Caroline Farina (nee D’Ambrosio). Devoted husband of Elaine Farina (nee Silvestri); beloved father of Lisa Walinski (Lee), Lori Ann Farina, Renee Rizzo (Marc), and Joseph P. Farina, Jr. (Ruth); proud grandfather of Kristine Ensign (Pat), Ashley Mastropietro (Ryan), Alisha Walinski, Nina Rizzo, Carmen Rizzo, Olivia Farina, and Isabella Farina. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Nathan and Gemma, as well as a number of cousins, and many dear friends.

Joe was a retiree of the United States Army National Guard of Pennsylvania after serving 21 years and earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a barber since the age of 13 and was still cutting hair in a barber chair in his garage up until the time of his death. Joe loved to fish, both saltwater and freshwater.

He was always excited to find another lake to fish in, and he counted the days until Spring. He was also a member of the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection, and the Sons of Italy. Viewing will be Saturday, February 9th, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St., Mantua, NJ 08051, where his Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.
