Joseph P. Muertz, 69, of Waterloo, IL, died February 8, 2019, in Waterloo, IL. He was born December 18, 1949, in Red Bud, IL. He is survived by his wife Lois Anne Muertz, nee Roever; children Melinda (Darren) Kiefer, Jennifer (Jody) Stapleton, Stephanie Muertz, & Amanda (Travis) Gilliam; grandchildren Adam, Evan, & Emma Kiefer, Daniel Stapleton, Cole & Olivia Gilliam; sisters & brothers Dolores Johanning, Herbert (Janie) Muertz, Rosann Kohnz, Mary Jean Wuertz, & Richard (Nancy) Muertz; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; & cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Peter W. & Agatha (nee Wuertz) Muertz; sister Geraldine Davis; brothers Theodore, George, and Edward Muertz; and nephew/Godson Brent Roever. Joseph was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church – Madonnaville, retired from Local #196, US Air Force Veteran, and member of Valmeyer American Legion.
