Obituary for Joseph R. Lash Sr. Joseph R. Lash Sr., 73, of Irwin, died Tuesday December 4, 2018, at home. He was born December 27, 1944 in Hutchinson, a son of the late George and Catherine (Steiner) Lash and was also preceded in death by siblings Martha Miller, Barbara DeFloria, Cathy Kelly, and George, Thomas, Richard, and Robert Lash. Joe worked at Elizabeth Carbide Die Co., Elizabeth, for over 30 years until retiring in 2008.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and served as Past Commander of American Legion Post 359, Irwin. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the Shaner Sportsman’s Club, and was a HUGE John Wayne fan. He is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Patricia A. (Wallace) Lash; his sons Joseph R. (Stephanie) Lash Jr. of Lafayette, IN and Jeffrey R. (Kristin) Lash of Trafford; four grandchildren Nathan and Olivia Lash, Aryana Marsella, and a granddaughter on the way; a sister Carol Kelley of Smithton; brother in law Robert “Rip” Sacchetti of Buena Vista; also nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received from Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Union Cemetery.
