Joseph R. “Sniffy” Sabot, Sr. Age 88, of Upper Burrell, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Marcia L. (Pometo) Sabot; loving father of Dana Sabot Robinson and Joseph R. (Stephanie) Sabot, Jr.; grandfather of Brandon Sabot, Amanda Coutch, Michael Mascara, Gavin Robinson, Adriana Sabot and Logan Sabot; great-grandfather of three; brother of 10 late siblings; and a son of the late Peter and Anna (Menda) Sabot. Also survived by his adoring dog, Shelby.

Joe was a Korean War Army Veteran and worked as a coal miner in Barking and Renton. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting. He always had a joke to tell and enjoyed making people laugh.

Visitation on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6pm until the time of military honors at 7:45pm at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 930 Center Avenue, Blawnox, PA 15238. Burial to remain private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, www.
