Joseph R. Shealey, 93, of Tampa, passed away peacefully, with his wife at his side, on January 26, 2019 at James A Haley VA Hospital. He was born December 10, 1925 in Monticello, FL to the proud parents of D.W. and Reba Shealey. He was the eleventh of twelve children.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lynn Shealey; his daughter, Candice; three granddaughters: Laura (Derek), Meghan (Chris), Kimberly (Mark), and three great-grandsons. He is predeceased by his son, Richard W. Shealey. He is also survived by his brother, Walton Shealey, his sister, Jean Reeves and many nieces and nephews.

He worked for many years at the State of Florida Department of Commerce. During WWII, he was in the US Marine Corp. serving in the Philippines and China.

He was an avid bass fisherman and football fan. A Chapel Service will be held at Adams and Jennings Funeral Home at 11:30am on Friday, February 1, 2019 with a Graveside Service to follow at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the artful care of Adams & Jennings Funeral Home, 6900 N. Nebraska Ave.
