Schnablegger, Joseph Ronald known as Ron, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Ron is a current City Council Member and former Mayor in the City of Bellflower. Born on Monday, December 26, 1955 in Long Beach, California.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joyce; his four sons, Jason (Kisha), Jesse, Joseph (Katrina) and Jake (Jamie). Nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; Glen (Christine) Schnablegger, Jerry (Linda) Cleveland and John Schnablegger (Rosa), 3 sisters, Linda Richardson, Donna (Richard) Heatley and Sherri (Mike) Miller and many Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Ron grew up in the City of Bellflower, graduated from Bellflower High School and worked as a local Real Estate Appraiser.

His commitment to public service began when he was appointed to the Public Safety Commission in 1992. Ron was a member of the Bellflower Unified School District (BUSD) Citizens Task Force and a founding member of Bellflower Against Gangs. He was a member of the Bellflower Kiwanis Club more than 30 years and actively served on Bellflower’s Neighborhood Watch program.

Ron’s favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and camping. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2018 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM and services begining at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church located at 14722 Clark Ave. , Bellflower California 90706.

Graveside will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier California following the service. A reception will be held at Calvary Baptist Church beginning at 12:30 until 3:00 PM on Monday also. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Bellflower Kiwanis Club, “Keep It Flying” program which pays for the Flag that proudly welcomes everyone to the City.
