Obituary for Joseph S. Postula Joseph S. Postula 97 of the Veterans Home of La Salle, formerly of Peru. Died 1:55 AM October 25,2018 in the Veterans Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday at St Hyacinth Church La Salle.

Very Rev Paul Carlson will officiant. Burial will be at St Vincent Cemetery La Salle. The La Salle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group will conduct graveside military rites.

Visitation will be Thursday in the church from 9:00 -10:00 AM. Ptak funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Joseph was born June 25,1921 in La Salle to Joseph and Mary (Kurek) Postula.

He married Agnes Kozar November 13,1943 in St Roch’s Church La Salle. She passed away in 1989. He than married Rosemary Fulkerson in 1995 in Streator.

She passed away in 2004. Joseph was a Navy Veteran of WW II serving from 1942- 1945. He worked maintenance for Meyer Furnance in Peru, Silica Sand Ottawa, Westclox and then retired from Ameican Hoecht in 1985.

He was a member of St Hyacinth Church La Salle. Joseph is survived by his daughter Janice Sholl of Rock Island, 2 sons Michael (Nancy) Postula of Champaign and Daniel (Nancy) Postula of Utica. 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and 4 step Grandchildren.

2 step sons Ray (Kathy) Fulkerson of Streator and David (Nancy) Fulkerson Streator. 1 sister Vivian Leonatti of Webster Park. Joseph was preceded in death by 1st wife Agnes and 2nd wife Rosemary, His daughter Patricia Olson, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
