Born and raised in Lambertville, Joe moved to Stockton in 1955. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II.

For many years he was employed as a superintendant for Bud Company in Philadelphia manufacturing automobile chassis. Later in life Joe work at Del-Vue Cleaners in Lambertville which was a family business. Joe was active in the Stockton and Lambertville communities serving as a councilman for Stockton for fifteen years.

He was a member of St. Agnes and St. John’s Roman Catholic Church’s, the Young Men’s Athletic Club, the Lambertville Elks Lodge, a life member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, a lieutenant and founding member of the Stockton 1st Aid Squad, the Deborah Heart and Lung Association, and a Third Degree member of St. Alphonsus Knights of Columbus # 7103 in Hopewell. Son of the late Carmello and Marie Skillodge, Widow of Mary Skillodge and brother of the late Charlie, Mike, Tony, Marge Skillodge and Jennie, Joe is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
