Joseph “Yogi” P. Papula, III passed away suddenly on May 17, 2019 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital after suffering from a heart ailment. Yogi was born on December 29, 1974 in Beacon the son of Caroline Sinclair Papula and the late Joseph P. Papula, Jr He attended Beacon City Schools and graduated from Beacon High School in 1993.

He was in several baseball leagues during his younger years. Joseph is survived by his mother, Caroline Papula; his sister, Shannon Papula and her fiancé Ronald Reynolds, Jr.; his nephew, Joshua Reynolds all of Beacon. He is also survived by two special cousins, Catherine Papula Boes of Wappingers Falls and Terri Vasquez of Beacon; his many aunts, uncles and cousins and two women he looked up to as family, Donna Tomlins and Jean Anzovino.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
