Obituary of Joseph Ammons Jr. Joseph Ammons Jr. age 89 of Maidsville passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1929 in Morgantown a son of the late Joe Ammons and Allie Faulkner Ammons. Joe was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers District 31.

When he was not outdoors, working on his farm and hunting, he enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and watching westerns. Joe is survived by his sons, Gary Ammons and wife Lisa of Morgantown, Danny Ammons of Morgantown, Kenny Ammons of Morgantown, and James Ammons and wife Theresa of Morgantown, two daughters, Rebecca Maust of Morgantown and Joyce Gibson and husband Robert of Morgantown, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great granddaughter soon to arrive. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Martha June Ammons, one sister, Jean Weaver, grandsons Ira Maust and Danny Ammons and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Ammons.

Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
