Josephine “Josie” Annette Bochek (nee Duncan), 84, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, following a brief illness. She was born May 10, 1934 in Barton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Stanley and Doris (Brainerd) Duncan. Josie lived at Webb Lake and graduated from Sevastopol High School in May of 1952.

On August 23, 1952, she and Roger Bochek were united in marriage at St. John the Baptist in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. Together, they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Family meant everything to Josie and loved getting together with everyone.

She was a homemaker for many years and took pride in her cooking and baking and people loved to take a seat at her table. Josie’s cherry pie was featured in the Taste of Home magazine. In the 1970’s, she drove school bus in Menominee Falls, Wisconsin, where she lived for 36 years.

The NEWAPA (Valmy Thresheree) was an important part of Josie and Roger’s life. They enjoyed camping in their fifth wheel for many years after Roger retired. Josie and Roger were members of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Institute, where she sold scrip for many years.

Josie will be missed by her husband, Roger; children, Roger F. Bochek, Rodney (Sue) Bochek, Joanne (Paul) Surfus, Rick (Beverly Knutson) Bochek, Regan (Gwen) Bochek, and Rudy (friend, Kris Eisenbraun Mehling) Bochek; grandchildren, Patrick (Amanda) Surfus, JoEllen (Chris) Donovan, Jessica (Jr. ) Waldschmidt, Renee (friend, Will) Holland, Jason (Cynthia) Bochek, Robyn Bochek, Joey Bochek, and Zack Bochek; two step-grandchildren, Morgan (Kristi) Rice and Lauren (Justin) Daoust; and ten great-grandchildren with another one due in March. She is further survived by her sister, Marj (Brad) Fleming Lildern Ireland; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Robbins and Beverly Preston.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bess Dehne; sister-in-law, Vivian Haen; and brother-in-law, Roland Bochek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Institute with Fr. Anthony Birdsall officiating.

Josie will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Josie may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www. huehnsfuneralhome.com.
