Josephine Mae “Jo” Metcalf, age 89 of West Allis, WI formerly of Monroe, WI passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Vitas Ruth Home in West Allis, WI. She was born March 19, 1929 in Watertown, WI the daughter of Henry William and Viola (Dugan) Wilde. Jo was united in marriage to Charles Daniel Metcalf on March 31, 1951 in Watertown.

Jo is survived by her children: Mary (Bill) Berger, Grace (Ian) Cheah, Chuck (Sharon) Metcalf, Tom (Ona) Metcalf and Karen (Ken) Schmidling; eleven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles; one brother: Henry Wilde; and one sister: Margaret Hafemann. Jo was a member of the St. Victor’s Catholic Church in Monroe, of which she was involved in helping with the landscaping, a member of the CCW, and distributed communion to nursing home residents. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church (344 N. Judgement St, Shullsburg) with Rev. Sudhakar Devarapu officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home of Shullsburg is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.
