Obituary for Josephine Stepp Josephine Stepp, age 83, of DeMotte, Indiana passed away on October 23, 2018 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village in DeMotte. Josephine was born on July 10, 1935, in Rensselaer, Indiana to Ben and Nancy (Risner) Hale. She attended the Gillam Township Public Schools.

Josephine married Sammie Stepp in Rensselaer, Indiana on December 27, 1952. Sammie preceded her in death on June 28, 2006. She was a retired hostess, working for thirty years at Mikes Country Kitchen in Hebron, Indiana.

Josephine was a member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God and the Christian Women’s group at the church. She enjoyed playing board games, especially a good game of Scrabble with friends and family. Surviving are six siblings, Harris (Betty) Hale of Rensselaer, Bethel (Lloyd) Hall of Oklahoma, Edna (Richard) Cavinder of Wheatfield, Benny (Mary) Hale of Rensselaer, Beverly (Donnie) Pullins of Rensselaer and Jimmy (Linda) Hale of Hebron, Indiana, along with many nieces and nephews.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Nancy, her husband Sammie, six sisters and one brother. Friends may call at the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God in Wheatfield, Indiana, on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.. Funeral services will immediately follow at the church on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Don VanderWall officiating.
