Josephine Wright Thornton, 89 of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 25, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee and of the Baptist faith. Josephine enjoyed baking, craft shows and loved spending time with children and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascal and Clara Smithson Wright, and husband, Gordon Thornton. Survivors include her children, Vickie (John) Gilliam of Rome, Ga. and Robert (Kim) Wilson of O’Fallon, Ill.

; grandchildren Hyong Yun of Seattle Wa. , Lisa Wilson of Louisville, Ky. , Jennifer Wilson of Normal Ill.
