Joy Kristina Kight Padgett, age 90, of East Dublin, died Monday, December 10, 2018. Mrs. Padgett was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; Thelmon and Ethel Williams Kight; husband, Willie L. Padgett; sons, Russell Padgett and Jimmy Padgett; brothers, Bernice Kight, Buddy Kight, Gene Kight, Ray Kight, and Junior Kight, and a sister, Gloria Kight.

Joy loved her family and enjoyed hosting meals and spending time together. She valued time with each individual. She loved family gatherings, as Christmas Eve Dinner was always held at her house.

She was influential in many people’s spiritual lives and was a prayer warrior. Survivors include her son Joey (Tammie) Padgett of East Dublin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jimmy) Bordelon of Baton Rouge, LA, Mitch (Tory) Padgett of East Dublin, Craigg (Kelli) Padgett of East Dublin, Jihan (Chris) Price of Hendersonville, NC; great grandchildren, Lauren Padgett, Aubrie Padgett, Zoey Padgett, Walker Padgett, Christine Price, Nicholas Price, and Justin Price. She is also survived by her devoted nieces, Lawana Newsome and Yvonne Boyd, as well as many other nieces and nephews she loved.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Wayne Dawkins and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Kight, Kenny Kight, Larry Kight, Bobby Kight, Larry Boyd, and Roy Kight. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicole Carlyle, Articia Brown, Kacy Warren, Gladys Hill, Mandy Cannady, Simone Worthen, Christina Ellington, Chasity Newsome, Janet Costley, Ernestine Matthews, Jeanny Baker, Carolyn Turner and Barbara Washington, who all took wonderful care of Joy in her last years.
