Obituary for Joyce A. Norton Joyce A. Norton, 76, of North Syracuse, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away quietly on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was born January 29, 1942 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Willard and Janet Schneider Cary. She was raised by her father, paternal grandmother, and stepmother Joyce, and was a graduate of Assumption High school.

She was a caregiver to many through babysitting and was a former Girl Scout leader and marching band chaperone. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her loving husband of 57 years, Ed, her children and grandchildren, both at home and at the camp in Redfield. She could always be found in the stands at her grandchildren’s baseball and soccer games, as well as field band shows.

She will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving besides her husband, Ed are four children; Kristine Norton (Vince) of North Syracuse, Kathy Valentino (Jim) of East Syracuse, Kevin Norton (Cheryl) of North Syracuse and Kellie Jaquay (Doug) of North Syracuse; six grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, Jamie, TJ, Liz and Christian; two brothers, Paul Cary (Patty) and Matt Cary; a brother-in-law, Ernie Norton (Shirley); two sisters-in-law, Terry Bradt (Mark) and Bonnie Cary; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Norton, and her brother, Dan Cary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday June 11th at 9 am at St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are Sunday June 10th from 1-4 pm at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home, 241 Kinne Street, East Syracuse.
