Obituary for Joyce Arlene Copeland Joyce Arlene Copeland, 82, of Maumelle, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, June 05, 2018. Arlene, as many knew her, lived a life full of grace, love, laughter, and hospitality. She loved her family, her church family, and the many friends she made throughout her life.

The testimony of her life will forever be reflected in her sweet spirit of kindness and love for others. Arlene was born on February 14, 1936 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Robert and Nellie Dollinger Johnson. She graduated from Chilhowie High School in Chilhowie, Virginia and worked as an optometric assistant in Silver Spring, Maryland; as a secretary at Elliot and France in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; and retired as a secretary at Wytheville Community College in Wytheville, Virginia.

She and her husband moved to Maumelle, Arkansas in 1999. She is preceded in death by two brothers Bernard Johnson and Alan Johnson, and two sisters Minnie Pickle and Mildred Anderson. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Copeland, of Maumelle, Arkansas; her children David and Ruth Price of Dover, Pennsylvania; Melinda and Marvin Rose of Baytown, Texas; Todd and Cynthia Copeland, of Chesterfield, Virginia; Bryan and Lorena Copeland, of Marion, Virginia; Leigh Ann and Jack Conklin, of Ladera Ranch, California; Robin Prescott, of Marion, Virginia; her brother, Norman and Rachel Johnson, of Chilhowie, Virginia; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Arlene was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church where she loved attending worship services and was especially endeared to her Sunday School class. She never met a stranger and would go out of her way to help anyone. She will be greatly missed but is eternally joyful in the presence of her Lord.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Monday, June 11, at 10:00 AM at Smith funeral home, North Little Rock. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Marvin Rose, of Baytown, Texas, officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. Pallbearers will be: David Price, Timothy Rose, Todd Copeland, Bryan Copeland, Ken Bushe, and Ray Thomas. All services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
