DEFOREST – Joyce D. Mellor, age 93, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Prairie Gardens in Sun Prairie. Joyce Darlene Mellor was born January 15, 1926 in Polk County, Wisconsin, to parents Henry and Edna (Christiansen) Anderson. She was united in marriage on November 16, 1946 to Edwin Roland Mellor.

Joyce worked for Cuna as an office clerk for many years. She then worked with her husband in his landscaping business and garden center. She had a green thumb and loved flower gardening.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and faithfully served Him. She served the Lord at the campground she and her husband owned for 13 years. Joyce and Edwin also served as volunteers in RVICS Christian ministries before retiring to Mauston.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kathy (Larry) Anderson of DeForest and Mike (Sandy) Mellor of Belleville; five grandchildren, Tracy (Scott) Dibble, Lindsy Anderson (fiancé, Mary), Ryan Anderson, Julie Liddicoat, Barbie Hinsdill; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Molly, and Falicia; four step-grandchildren, Wendy (Scott) Lathrop, Laurie (Allen) Cash, Doug Anderson, and Melinda Anderson; six step-great grandchildren, Brad, Taylor, Brittany, Alex, Brayden, and Autumn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Darren Mellor; siblings, Virgil Anderson, Evangeline Anderson, and Marian Horsch. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Prairie Gardens and Agrace HospiceCare.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22 2019 at DeForest Evangelical Free Church, 501 Country View Drive, DeForest. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at church. Burial will follow at Moravian Cemetery in DeForest.
