Obituary of Joyce Qualey Joyce S. Qualey (Fay), Hamlin, passed peacefully at home, September 20, 2018. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Craig) Dick; Donna (Mark) Schwan; Barbara Person; James (Christine) Qualey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was born October 6, 1931 in Rochester and attended Charlotte High School.
She married Francis Qualey in July of 1949, and spent many years at home raising their four children. She later worked for many years at Grandville Senior Living Facility where she ran the kitchen and managed the kitchen staff. In her later years she volunteered at the Hamlin Food Cupboard as well as at Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Brockport where she called bingo and made many friends.
Joyce was an independent-spirited, adventuresome and lively woman who liked to stay busy and to be engaged with her family and in her community. She was well-loved by the people in her community. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy, whether sharing a meal, reading stories or snuggling up to watch a movie.
She will be greatly missed. Service for family and friends and Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Saturday, Sept 29th at 11 am.
