Mrs. Edythe ‘Juanita’ Florence Norman, 96, of Elberton, wife of 44 years to the late Grady Hawes Norman, entered into rest on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at The Oaks at Braselton in Hoschton. Mrs. Norman was born in Lincoln County on August 27, 1922, daughter of the late Thomas Sanders Florence and Edythe Scott Sprouse Florence. She was a retired monumental designer and draftsman and a member of Elberton Christian Church.

Mrs. Juanita loved to draw and create things with her hands, and especially loved sewing and crocheting. She is survived by her only son, Grady Calvin Norman (June Stewart Norman); siblings: Wayne Alvis Florence, Martha Florence Jones (Ken Jones), Winston Shelvyn Florence (Jan); grandchildren: Grady Stuart Norman (Alicia Harrell Norman), Stacey Norman Wilson (Kurt Michael Wilson), and Vicki Sherrill Norman Pettitt (Steven Jay Pettitt); great-grandchildren: Jacob Nicholas Norman (Sara Chantal Norman), Jonathon Scott Norman, Katherine Stewart Norman, Elizabeth Sparling Wilson, Marylin Leighton Wilson, Michelle Mattingly Wilson, Sara Normandy Wilson, Jordan Steven Pettitt, Nathaniel Albert Pettitt, and Owen Christopher Pettitt; great-great-grandchild: Grady James Norman; four nephews; and two nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Therron Eugene Florence, Thomas Allen Florence, Mary Ellen Florence, and Walter Sanders Florence; one nephew; and one niece.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 11 o’clock at Elberton Christian Church with the Rev. Bill Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30a.m.-10:30a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday morning. Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Elberton Christian Church, 1128 Calhoun Falls Highway, Elberton, GA 30635. Those wishing may sign the online guestbook at www.
