A memorial service for Judy Hinson of Gilbert, SC will be held Saturday, February 16 at 1 pm in the Lexington Baptist Church chapel. Visitation will follow the service. The church is located at 308 East Main Street, Lexington, SC.

Judy died on February 7, 2019, after a brief illness. She was 75 years old. Born Judith Ann Jones in Rock Hill, SC, on August 28, 1943, she was the oldest child of James Clyde Jones, Sr. and Gladys Griggs Jones.

Judy grew up in Lancaster County, SC and was a 1961 graduate of Lancaster High School. After high school, Judy earned a degree from the Dell School of Medical Technology in Asheville, NC. For the next 50 years, Judy held a variety of roles in the healthcare industry in Eden, NC, Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC and, finally, Lexington, SC.

Her titles ranged from lab tech to lab supervisor. However, since 1998, Judy’s favorite title was that of Grammy to her two grandchildren, Miles and Greer Fowler of Gilbert, SC. In addition to her grandchildren, Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Greg Fowler of Gilbert, SC, as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Lynne Jones of Van Wyck, SC.

Memorials can be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
