Judith C. “Judi” O’Baker, 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at WMHS Regional Medical Center. Born on November 27, 1951, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. “Jake” and Eleanor (Schneider) Winebrenner. In addition to her parents, Judi was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph “Pee Wee” Winebrenner, Jr. and her special brother-in-law, Larry ”Bum” O’Baker, for whom she was his caretaker for over a decade.

Judi was a member of Zion Community Church in Wellersburg. She started her career the year she graduated from Mt Savage High School as guidance secretary at Mt. Savage School, and worked at numerous other schools within the Allegany County Board of Education System and finished her 40-year career at the central office of the Board of Education.

Anyone who knew Judi, knew how much she deeply loved her family and close friends. She always put other’s needs above her own and was always there for anyone who needed her. She devoted her entire being to her family.

Her kindness, caring and compassion for her friends and family was something that she will always be remembered for to those who were blessed enough to be a part of her life. Her unshakable faith and radiant smile carried her through a decade long disease and cancer that even those closest to her will never truly understand. She would never complain and her faith never wavered.

As she enters the gates of Heaven and meets her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ she will gladly be told, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, you have fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Now there is in store for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will award you”. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Surviving are her husband, Gary O’Baker, whom she was with for 50 years; mother of Larry and wife Jessica O’Baker, Kari and husband Allen Cook, two grandchildren whom she deeply loved and adored, Alexa and Evan Cook; siblings, Jeannie Walsh, Sue Yantz, Polly Clark, Tom Winebrenner, Dot Lowery, Sandy Lowery and special brother Denny Winebrenner; two very special friends, Cathy Blank and Debbie Logsdon, who were always there for her. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, Md, on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 1 pm with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating.

Thanks to Dr. Blanche Mavromatis at WMHS Schwab Family Cancer Center and the Nursing Staff of the 7th floor South of WMHS.
