OBITUARY Judith Merle Voltmer May 22, 1938 – October 31, 2018 Judith Merle Nesmon was born on May 22, 1938 to parents Mack Nesmon and Doris (Fisher) Nesmon in East Los Angeles and graduated from Garfield High school. Judy Voltmer died at Hoag Hospital on October 31, 2018 surrounded by loved ones and receiving the best possible care imaginable. Judy was truly a hard worker and a consummate professional and spent her career in sales, training and management in the beauty industry including: Nanique cosmetics Make up artist at Glendale College Buffums department store Cosmetics Manager Roux Hair Products Dell Laboratories and Amitee.

Her witty and humorous communication style broke down barriers in an often male-dominated industry and forged a style that was not only effective but powerful for her time in the industry. Judy was only the second woman appointed to President of the Non Food Merchandizers Association in 1989. Her most notable accomplishment however, was successfully raising 2 boys as a single mother, often working 2 jobs to make ends meet.

Judy was a woman who lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed a healthy, active lifestyle. Her zest for life helped her remain positive during the many health battles she would fight courageously.

To quote Judy………. “It is much better to look good than to feel good”. Judy never complained even when things weren’t going so well.

Judy was compelled to tell the story of her very long health journey to positively impact others. She often spoke at American Heart Association events such as the “Go Red for Women” and was a generous donor to the Hoag Hospital Neurosciences Institute and Sleep Center among other foundations that she felt were important causes. Judy was the life of the party.

She also loved a good party and took great pride in chairing event committees for the various organizations she was involved. Judy was an active member of The American Heart Association, Encore Newcomers Club, Newport Harbor Republican Women, and Newport Beach Country Club. Judy also enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, and most of all, shopping.

Judy is survived by son Kory Zuniga of Ranch Palos Verdes, son Kyle Zuniga of Huntington Beach along with wife Erica Zuniga. Judy’s grandchildren Chloe Zuniga and Gavin Zuniga were the light of her life. We would like to thank the staff members at Hoag Hospital that made a positive impact on her and on our family and improved her quality of life while she was with us.

We would also thank you to the management and staff at Vivante on the Coast for the wonderful care and service while Judy resided there. Judy will now be laid to rest in Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary facing what she loved, the ocean and her beloved Fashion Island. A lasting tribute has been made in Judy’s honor at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
