Obituary for Judy K. Poland Judy Poland, 68, of Kearney died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney. Funeral Services are 10:00 am Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Kearney Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Brian Klein officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cancer League (cancerleague.org/donate) or to Mt.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Judy was born July 23, 1949 in Sargent, Nebraska to Ellis and Dorothy (Niedt) Millsap.

She was raised in Sargent and was a graduate of Sargent High School. On September 30, 1967, Judy was united in marriage to Richard Poland. Shortly after their marriage Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army.

The couple spent most of their married lives in Sargent where Judy helped Dick operate Poland Flying Service. After Dick passed away in 1990, Judy worked at Ed’s Greenhouse in Sargent as she transitioned into her own cleaning business. In 2001, she moved to Kearney where Judy continued her cleaning business until her health would no longer allow her to do so.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, shopping for her grandchildren, going out for coffee with her mom and sisters, and selflessly caring for everyone. Judy was so faithful to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends and above all to her savior, Jesus. Survivors include her son Jason Poland of Omaha; daughter Minon Mitchell and husband Shawn of Colorado Springs; 3 grandchildren; ; mother, Dorothy Millsap of Kearney; brother, Dana Millsap and his wife, Sharon of Overton; sisters, Lori Roper and husband, Denny of Amherst, Pamela Davidson of Kearney, Tamera Heaten of Kearney; brother, Kevin Millsap and wife, Claressa of Kearney; brother-in-law Larry Poland and wife Carol of Kearney; sister-in-law Karen Olson and husband Lowell of Las Cruces, NM; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
