Judy McDowell Age 69 of Wilmington passed away Wednesday October 24, 2018 at her home. Born April 11, 1949 in Russellville, Alabama, Judy Ann was a daughter of James and Vassie (nee Bishop) Mann. She was raised and educated in Romeoville, and graduated from Lockport West High School with the Class of 1967.

On June 8, 1968, Judy married Troy D. McDowell in Joliet. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved to read books from any genre. Judy’s greatest joy was raising her family and getting to create lasting memories with them, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Troy; two children: Tammy (Raymond) Luckey of Custer Park and Shawn (Deanna) McDowell of Wilmington; five grandchildren: Morgan and Devyn Luckey and Sarah, Taylor and Meghan McDowell; her sister: Kathy Mann of Lisle; sisters-in-law: Betty (Ron) Simon of Wilmington and Carol (Rob) Flint of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: James M. Mann; brother-in-law: Larry McDowell; and sister-in-law: Darlene Patton. Per Judy’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Graveside services will be Sunday October 28, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery Sunset Addition in Wilmington. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
