Julia E. DiBenedetto, 101 years old, of Santee, California formerly of Steubenville, Ohio died on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the home of her daughter Linda Hill-Phoenix following a brief illness. She was born April 18, 1917 in Clarksburg, W.Va. , a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Leone Rose.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Paul D. DiBenedetto who died July 23, 1978. She was also preceeded in death by her brother, Carl J. Rose, an infant brother and three sisters: Mary Mazzella, Theresa Florio & Virginia Spatafore. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Ray) Hill-Phoenix of California and Patty (Tony) Reda of Steubenville and two grandchildren, Anthony and Michelle Reda of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Also surviving are several neices and nephews and her special cousin Anna Daniels in addition to her California friends. She also leaves behind step-grandchildren Chris Phoenix and Jane Rieter and a great-granddaughter, Ada Phoenix. Julia was a member of Holy Name Cathedral and Holy Roasry Parishes, now Triumph of the Cross.

She was a past member of the CWC. She enjoyed watching her game shows (Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune), attending art classes, doing word finds, and cooking. Julia was a loving mother and grandmother, she was such an inspiration to her family and will be missed.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. , Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be Wednesday at 11:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr.

Tom Nau will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
